NEW LIVE VIDEO FOR “HIGH LIFE CLINIC” (LIVE AT BASEMENT EAST) OUT TODAY
FRONT DOOR CONFRONTATIONS EP OUT NOW ON FANTASY RECORDS
Rising Nashville-based indie rock band The Criticals (Parker Forbes and Cole Shugart), who released their new EP, Front Door Confrontations via Fantasy Records earlier this summer, will begin a swing of shows in California, Arizona and Oklahoma beginning next week. Front Door Confrontations features the singles, “Clever Girl” and “Belmont,” along with the epic opener “All The Way”. Find it HERE.
Known for their electric shows, the band has also released a new, live performance video of fan favorite “High Life Clinic,” from their record release show at the Basement East in their hometown of Nashville last month. Watch “High Life Clinic”(Live at Basement East) HERE.
The Critical’s run of western U.S. tour dates kicks off on Monday, September 18th at The Echo in Los Angeles, followed by House of Blues (Voodoo Room) in San Diego on September 20th, the Valley Bar in Phoenix on September 21st and Oklahoma City’s Uptown After Dark on September 23rd.
“There is nothing better in the world than getting to play our music in a sweaty little packed club for our people,” says Forbes and Shugart. “Especially when we have so much new music to play. We have dreamed of playing all of these clubs since we were teenagers, especially The Echo. It’s going to be a dream come true.”
Friends for more than a decade, Forbes and Shugart forged a unique musical bond logging time together in Nashville’s wild DIY rock scene. Building on the foundation laid by their heroes Bowie, The Stones, and The Kinks, the pair’s taut, revved up tunes also evoke post-modern touchstones such as The Strokes, The 1975, and Fontaines DC. That close friendship and shared vision has spawned a symbiotic musical partnership that fuses tuneful classicism and indie-rock thrash into a seductive, unforgettable mix. Following a pair of highly-regarded EPs — 2019’s Mimosa Hygiene and the following year’s Sour Grapes — not to mention a steady diet of raucous live shows, the band released their most accomplished work yet with Front Door Confrontations.
Since officially forming in 2018, The Criticals have proven themselves with their sharp songwriting and a whiplash live show that has drawn sell-out crowds in major US markets including New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. The Criticals will begin recording their debut full-length album for Fantasy later this year.
