NATHANIEL RATELIFF & THE NIGHT SWEATS TO MAKE GRAND OLE OPRY DEBUT MARCH 3RD

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats

NEW ALBUM TEARING AT THE SEAMS OUT MARCH 9 ON STAX RECORDS

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats will make their Grand Ole Opry debut on Saturday, March 3rd, 2018. Fans can tune in to their Opry appearance via opry.com and the Opry’s mobile app as well as the Opry’s flagship radio station, 650 AM WSM.

The Saturday night performance will run on a 30-minute delay on Willie’s Roadhouse on SiriusXM Satellite Radio. Grand Ole Opry performances are also streamed live at Opry City Stage, the new restaurant and music venue in New York City’s Time Square.

The performance will be in support of the bands highly anticipated album, Tearing at the Seams, out March 9th on Stax Records.  The album’s lead single “You Worry Me” is the #1 track at Triple A for the fourth consecutive week and #1 at Americana radio for the fifth week in a row. The song also set a Billboard chart record for the most single week spins ever at Triple A radio. Tearing at the Seams is available for pre-order here.

The new music is receiving early critical acclaim—Rolling Stone declares, “The first single from his forthcoming LP adds Southern-rock bite and weary longing to make for his most urgent song yet,” while Relix adds, “Rateliff & The Night Sweats consistently prove that they’re well up to the task before them, that is, to preserve the classic-soul style that their storied label has always embodied. It’s little wonder then that Tearing at the Seams is so potent and profound.” Q Magazine furthers, “If anything, Tearing at the Seams more accurately captures the feel of Rateliff’s stirring live performances. There’s a looseness and sense of fun here, perhaps because for the first time the songs were written in the company of his band.”

Initial writing and recording sessions for Tearing at the Seams took place in Rodeo, New Mexico

where Rateliff & The Night Sweats re-established their dynamic off the stage and in the studio. “For the first record I demo-ed everything up and created most of the parts,” says Rateliff. “This time, I felt like we’ve all spent so much time on the road that we should all go off somewhere.

We should all have that experience together.” The band finished recording with producer Richard Swift—who has helmed records for The Shins and Foxygen, in addition to The Night Sweats’ debut—collectively creating a group of songs that capture the band’s emotion and intensity.

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats are: Rateliff (vocals, guitar), Joseph Pope III (bass), Patrick Meese (drums), Luke Mossman (guitar), Mark Shusterman (keys), Andy Wild (saxophone), Scott Frock (trumpet) and Jeff Dazey (saxophone).
