Today, acclaimed songwriter and performer Grace Potter released an original new song called “We’ll Be Alright” and a stirring cover of David Bowie’s “As The World Falls Down,” listen HERE. The timely “We’ll Be Alright” was originally recorded during the sessions for her latest album Daylight, available now on Fantasy Records, and co-written by the late Mike Busbee and Daylight album producer Eric Valentine. With their messages of hope and assurance both songs take on deeper meaning in the midst of this period of acute anxiety and loneliness. “For me, music has been a safe haven in these strange times,” explains Potter. She continues, “As we learn to adapt to a new human condition, I wanted to share a couple of new recordings that feel timely. It’s so important that we not feel alone right now. More than anything else, I just wanted to send a little musical comfort out to the world.”
Recently, Grace performed “Angel From Montgomery” for Consequence of Sound’s Angel from Maywood: A Livestream Tribute to John Prine, watch HERE. Other participating artists included Warren Haynes, Norah Jones, the Decemberists’ Colin Meloy, and Valerie June among many others.
