FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – November 15th, 2019 – Today,  BAILEN (fraternal twins Daniel and David and younger sister Julia) shared the digital only, 2-track EP entitled we did a Christmas thing, which includes a cover of “Christmas Is All Around,” (from the film Love Actually) and the holiday classic “I’ll Be Home For Christmas.”

Collectively, the band stated: “The holidays always remind us of being home in New York City, and ‘I’ll Be Home For Christmas’ is a song that really resonated with us as a band because we’re away from home a lot. The song gives you that nostalgic longing that is so much a part of the holidays and so much a part of being on tour away from home with the ones you love. The holidays are nothing without some fun romcoms, and we are all big fans of Richard Curtis and Bill Nighy and thought it would be funny to cover the cover in the movie Love Actually. It turned out that the song actually lent itself great to harmonies, so we had fun with it and kept it tongue and cheek.”

The holiday EP follows the release of the band’s MIXTAPE VOL. 1, a digital only, 8-song collection of previously unreleased original songs, album tracks and select covers from an eclectic group of artists including The Sugarcubes, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Billie Eilish and Joni Mitchell. The EP’s original songs include fan favorites “Something Tells Me” (which  appears on their John Congleton (St. Vincent, The War On Drugs) produced, acclaimed debut album Thrilled To Be Here,) the non-album track, “25 for the Last Time” and two unreleased cuts from the ‘Thrilled’ sessions, “The Way I Could” and “Cold Blue.” You can listen to MIXTAPE VOL. 1 HERE.

Additionally, this week BAILEN announced new 2020 tour dates starting with a headlining run through the mid-west which kicks off January 17th in Vienna, VA.
