The Marcus King Band will make their first ever appearance on CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Wednesday, February 13th, 2019. The soulful rock & roll band is set to perform “Goodbye Carolina” – a track off their acclaimed album Carolina Confessions, out now via Fantasy Records. At only 22 years of age, Marcus King has been writing songs and performing onstage for half his lifetime and continues his family legacy as a fourth-generation musician. Carolina Confessions, produced by Dave Cobb (Jason Isbell, Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton), finds Marcus hitting new creative milestones as he confronts family, forgiveness, mental health and a new-found freedom. NOISEY called the album “astounding and triumphant, a gut punch and a nut-kick,” and NPR MUSIC proclaimed, “it’s tenacious and vulnerable…The next time someone says to you that rock is dead, tell them to look no further than this King.”

The Marcus King Band members include drummer Jack Ryan, bass player Stephen Campbell, trumpeter/trombonist Justin Johnson, sax player Dean Mitchell and keyboard player DeShawn “D-Vibes” Alexander. Together, with Marcus, they form a dynamic unit that has honed their synergy through endless touring. The band will spend the majority of 2019 on the road bringing their compelling live show to fans nationwide and across the globe. They are set to join country music juggernaut Chris Stapleton for a slew of stadium dates on his All-American Road Show tour, make their second trip to Japan for the Billboard Live Festival, and play dates in Australia as a part of the Byron Bay Bluesfest.
