NATHANIEL RATELIFF & THE NIGHT SWEATS’ TEARING AT THE SEAMS OUT NOW TO CRITICAL PRAISE

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats Tearing at the Seams

WILL PERFORM ON THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING JIMMY FALLON MARCH 12th

Tearing at the Seams, the highly anticipated new album from Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats is out now on Stax Records.  The record is available for purchase HERE.

The album is receiving widespread critical acclaim:

“The first single ‘You Worry Me,’ from his forthcoming LP, adds Southern-rock bite and weary longing to make for his most urgent song yet.” –Rolling Stone

“The hottest vintage-sounding soul octet in the country.” –Billboard

Tearing at the Seams is potent enough to return Rateliff & The Night Sweats to the spotlight to stay, not as the unexpected beneficiaries of a novelty hit, but as one of  Americana’s brightest new stars.” –Newsday

“If anything, Tearing at the Seams more accurately captures the feel of Rateliff’s stirring live performances. There’s a looseness and sense of fun here, perhaps because for the first time the songs were written in the company of his band.”  ★★★★ –Q Magazine

“The Night Sweats are even more commanding on the follow-up, deepening Rateliff’s vision of ‘a Sam & Dave-meets- The Band combo.’” –Uncut

“The Night Sweats’ woozy, loose grooves are hypnotizing and are perfect accompaniment to Rateliff’s gravel-worn rasp.” ★★★★ –Mojo

“Rateliff & The Night Sweats consistently prove that they’re well up to the task before them, that is, to preserve the classic-soul style that their storied label has always embodied. It’s little wonder then that Tearing at the Seams is so potent and profound.” –Relix

This week, Rateliff spoke about the new album and the band’s amazing journey on NPR’s All Things Considered.  Last night, the band performed in front of a sold-out crowd at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem. Additionally, the band is set to make their third appearance on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon performing “You Worry Me,” on MondayMarch 12th.

The group will tour North America this spring, with stops at Los Angeles’ Greek Theater as well as two dates at Denver’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Tickets are on sale now at nathanielrateliff.com. See below for complete details.

Initial writing and recording sessions for Tearing at the Seams took place in Rodeo, New Mexico where Rateliff & The Night Sweats re-established their dynamic off the stage and in the studio. “For the first record I demo-ed everything up and created most of the parts,” says Rateliff. “This time, I felt like we’ve all spent so much time on the road that we should all go off somewhere. We should all have that experience together.”

The band finished recording with producer Richard Swift—who has helmed records for The Shins and Foxygen, in addition to The Night Sweats’ debut—collectively creating a group of songs that capture the band’s emotion and intensity.

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats are: Rateliff (vocals, guitar), Joseph Pope III (bass), Patrick Meese (drums), Luke Mossman (guitar), Mark Shusterman (keys), Andy Wild (saxophone), Scott Frock (trumpet) and Jeff Dazey (saxophone).
