Rising Band’s new album TURN OFF THE NEWS (BUILD A GARDEN)
Scores Impressive Chart Debuts
Lukas Nelson & Promise of The Real hit a career milestone this week as their brand-new album Turn Off The News (Build A Garden) debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Chart, the band’s first-ever #1 country album. The record also debuted at #2 on the Americana Folk Chart and #13 on the Top 200 Sales Chart. The impressive chart numbers come on the heels of a jam packed release week which included a super-charged performance of the album’s lead single “Bad Case” on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and a segment on VICE News’ “Bridge, Chorus, Verse” on HBO.

The Early Buzz:
“The title track is a standout in a record full of strong songs, with the 30-year-old Nelson taking on the role of sage, looking for a way to bring people together in this era of division.”
-The Associated Press
“Nelson conjures a power-pop-leaning song cycle that seeks a better way to live with dollops of Southern gospel and slinky R&B. The band mixes Levon Helm’s funkiness, Leon Russell’s cagey musicality and Tom Petty’s ardor.”
– The Nashville Scene
“The album features everything from soaring wall-of-sound arrangements (the Roy Orbison-inspired “Where Does Love Go”) to wildly fun country-rock throwdowns like the joyous twin-guitar jam “Civilized Hell” – a duet between Lukas and his dad Willie.”
– Rolling Stone
“A fantastically heady album of topical, existential numbers that fuse road-dusted Americana with eastern sounds, rocksteady grooves and other unexpectedly eclectic jams, seamlessly melded by the band’s potent communal chemistry.”
– Flaunt Magazine
